In Mar/25 Song et al published a US nationwide analysis of ADHD in pregnancy in the European Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. They show the prevalence of pregnant patients with a diagnosis of ADHD increased 39.5% from 2016 to 2020! "As the prevalence of pregnant patients with ADHD diagnoses rises, individualized perinatal care tailored to patients’ treatment needs becomes increasingly important."
So what?
-"Providing this level of care likely calls for additional training of clinicians. "
-"Providers should be offered workshops on optimizing patient and pregnancy outcomes for those with ADHD. "
